We have been asked by our client to identify a best
Sr. Java Developer for
Boston, MA Our client is a highly regarded company in the Financial Services and trading.
Title: Sr. Java Developer (Financial) Location: Boston, MA
Duration: Long Term
Keys to the Position The ideal candidate will have participated a variety of development initiatives with core competencies in Java and relational databases.
1. Proven object-oriented software design and development experience using Core Java, JMS or (IBM MQ, ActiveMQ),JSP's, and XML.
· Relational database technologies, knowledge of RDBMS design concepts as they apply to OLTP and OLAP, SQL, and SQL performance optimization techniques (Oracle is preferred)
· Experience with industry-leading containers Tomcat or WebLogic
· Strong oral, presentation and written communication skills.
· Financial industry knowledge is a plus
· Desire to grow into a leadership position
Additional Qualifications · Experience working on a software engineering team with onshore and offshore resources
· Proven software development experience with browser-based applications and technologies
· Proven experience with such technologies as web services, Groovy/Grails, EXTJS, XML/XSLT, Struts, log4j, ANT, Spring, AJAX, and Web Services
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Job Responsibilities · Technical development, design, implementation, deployment, and support of systems that serve needs of Financial Services Organization
· Participate in small to mid-sized development initiatives involving full-lifecycle development efforts which are based on J2EE, Linux/Unix and Oracle technologies
· Responsible for code quality and assurance by focusing on static code analysis, unit testing, design and code reviews, continuous integration, release management, performance tuning and execution
· Partner with System Analysts and Project Managers to implement business requirements
· Partner with Project Managers, Technical and QA Leads on estimates & status, identify issues and escalate risks
· Provide hands-on development guidance and mentoring for junior members of the development team.
· Coordinate infrastructure related activities with middleware and database teams Implement systems based on well defined SLAs
